Here are just a few of the many countries with international adoption programs. Lutheran Social Services of Illinois will assist you with finding a country and an international agency that is right for you. Changes occur regularly with international adoption, so these guidelines provide general information only. You will need to contact individual international agencies for the most current information.

Colombia	Married 3-5 years, 25-38, singles accepted for older children, no serious health issues	7 years and up, sibling groups, children with special needs, Colombian American families 3 months and older	6-8 weeks
Ethiopia	Some single women, married couples, no more than 50 years between age of parent and child, no serious health issues	Infants to 12 years	1 week
Ghana	Married couples only, 25-50	12 months to 14 years, sibling groups	2-4 weeks
India	Married 5 years, 30-55, no serious health issues	Infants and older	1 week
Poland	Married couples and single women, for women, no more than 40 years between age of parent and child, 45 years for men	12 months and older, sibling groups	3-5 weeks
Russia	Married couples, singles for older children, serious health issues on individual basis	12 months to 16 years	2 trips, 4-5 weeks total time
