Adoptive Families Fall Outing at Goebbert's Farm
On Saturday, September 28th, LSSI hosted a get together at a pumpkin farm northwest of Chicago for families waiting to adopt and those that have already adopted. It was a "picture perfect" day for a wagon ride through a corn field, taking a ride on a camel and sharing stories about adoption! |

- Adoptive Families Connected
Description: A Support and Educational Group for Waiting and Adoptive Families
sponsored by Lutheran Social Services of Illinois
Monthly presentations and discussions. Held on the second Thursday of each month. Dinner serves from 6-7pm and presentations from 7-8pm. Dinner and childcare are provided at no cost.

April 10 - Infant Care Class
Kathy Kelly, a register nurse and adoptive parent, will discuss the how-to’s of baby care. Find out how to ready your home for your new child and learn some baby care tips. Ask the expert questions about how to care for your child from newborn on up!
May 8 - Talking About Adoption Through Children's Books & Play
Children learn so much about their world through the books we read with them and the games they play. Find out how to incorporate adoption topics into story time, and play time at various stage of development. Already have a favorite adoption storybook? Bring it to share with the group!
June 12 - Bringing Your Child Home
Whether you are traveling to another city, or another country, preparing for the trip that will bring your child home can be a daunting task. Receive tips on how to pack your bags as you embark on this life changing journey.
